I'm Anna

Before running Mini Writers Club I was a teacher for 15 years and helped many children learn to read and write.

Wherever you are on your journey, I'm here to help. Whether you are worried about pronouncing the sounds correctly, looking for some tricks or tips for making learning fun or wondering if your child is doing ok, I've been there both as a teacher and with my own children. Helping your child learn to read and write can feel tricky at times, but it's so rewarding when things start to click.

My story

I remember sitting in a phonics training session early in my teaching career. They showed us some sounds and asked us to read them. I had no idea how to pronounce them and thought how am I going to teach this?

When my daughter started school, I realised many parents felt how I had felt during that phonics training. So I set up Mini Writers Club to share tips and activities to help parents support their children with reading and writing.

Then lockdown happened...

I did some live phonics sessions, which was scary, but the feedback was amazing! My daughter was in Reception and I shared the reading and writing activities that we did and sold phonics flashcards and kits.

My small business continued to grow. I have packed and shipped over 8000 orders and over 2000 people have joined my online clubs full of phonics, handwriting and times tables activities.

I left my teaching job a couple of years ago and now run Mini Writers Club full time.
