This is an activity that I like to set up in the run-up to Halloween. I put our oilcloth chalkboard tablecloth on the table with some chalk pens for my children to draw on. The chalk pens wipe off really easily with a damp cloth. I have an absorbent sph2onge one which works really well because it wipes away the chalk without leaving the tablecloth wet.
The chalkboard tablecloth is a great way to practise spellings. We used it as a tablecloth at breakfast time and used chalk pens to have a go at writing the words on the spelling list.
You could also use the chalk pens to write on pumpkins and practise your child's spellings that way.
