What you need:
Duplo
Dry wipe pen
Choose one of the words from your spelling list and write each sound on a Duplo building block using a dry wipe pen. Say the word to your child and see if they can rearrange the blocks to spell the word. Encourage them to sound the word out e.g. high, h-igh.
Only give your child the blocks with the letters they need for that word.
Write digraphs/trigraphs (where two/three letters make one sound) on the same block e.g. igh.
Let them look at the word before they try to make it.
Write single letters on each block so that your child has to build the digraphs/trigraphs themselves.
Place all of the letters needed to spell all of the words on the spelling list so your child has to select the letters they need.
