Place a selection of tricky word cards in a line. Work from the top to bottom asking your child to read the cards. If there are any words they don't know, help them to read the word. Set a timer on your phone to see how long it takes them to read the words.
Start again from the top and see if they can beat their time.
You could also play this game using sound cards.
