Paw Patrol Mission - Names (Spelling)

You could do this activity using any of your child's interests/toys. I hid the letters to spell Benji's name on his Paw Patrol mat. You could use a car mat or just hide them around a room and choose toys to help rescue the letters.

Support:

To start with I arranged the post it notes in the correct order from left to right. I gave Benji a piece of cardboard with his name on and explained that his mission was to rescue the letters to spell his name.

I wrote the initial letter on a different coloured post it note so it stood out. I reminded him that we start with the first letter, which is a capital letter.

Benji drove his Paw Patrol vehicles to each letter then drove it back to the cardboard name. He rescued each letter in turn and stuck it over the top of the matching letter. This helped to reinforce the what letters are in his name and the order they go in.

Extend:

I spread the letters out again but this time I mixed them up. I told him the mission was to rescue them all in the correct order and reminded him to look for the capital B to start.

If your child is ready you could get them to turn the cardboard name over and see if they fetch the letters without seeing their name.
