If your child is reluctant to try putting on clothes by themselves it might be easier to practise the skills through play. If you have a dressing up box, pull it out and get stuck in. If you don't have dressing up clothes, why not let them have a go at dressing up in some clothes from your wardrobe?
Some dressing up clothes have fastening such as zips which are a great way to get them used to the action needed to do up their coat.
Encourage them to choose a new outfit so that they practise getting undressed too.
If you have a go at this activity and share any photos on social media please tag @miniwritersclub.
