You will need:
Chocolate
Pretzels
Candy eyes
Smarties for the nose
Greaseproof paper
What to do:
1. Melt the chocolate.
2. Spread melted chocolate on to greaseproof paper using a spoon.
3. Use the pretzels to create antlers and add the nose and the eyes.
4. Put it in the fridge to cool.
The best part is licking the bowl while you wait for the reindeer to set...
Skills:
Strengthening Wrists – Stirring the chocolate will strengthen their wrists, ready for when they need to be able to manipulate a pencil.
Pincer Grip – Your child will use their thumb and finger to pick up the eyes and the nose. This skill will be used later on to hold a pencil properly.
Hand-eye Co-ordination – Positioning the decorations on the chocolate reindeer develops the skills needed for children to be able to use their eyes to guide their hand when forming letters.
