FAQs
What age is the Space Camp for?
Children who are in Year 1 and will be taking the Phonics Screening Check in June. It is also helpful for any children who do not pass the screening check, so they can continue practicing at home, before having another chance to take it in Year 2.
Do I need a printer?
Space Camp includes printable PDFs but they can also be accessed on a device. The printable activities could also be recreated using a pen and paper if you don't have access to a printer.

What sounds are included?
There is a guide to show you how to pronounce the sounds that are taught in Reception and Year 1.
What words are included?
There is a guide to show you what types of words are assessed in the Phonics Screening Check. The games include a variety of word types from simple CVC words (consonant vowel consonant) to words with more than one syllable. Space Camp also includes alien words (nonsense words) which are included in the PSC to check that your child can decode unfamiliar words.
