  • Will it match what my child has been learning in Reception?
Yes! Phonics Camp covers Phase 3–4 phonics, which is right where most Reception children are by summer. It’s all about keeping those skills fresh, gently filling any gaps, and helping your child feel ready for Year 1... without it feeling anything like school.
  • What if they’re already a bit ahead... or still catching up?
Totally fine. The lessons are bite-sized, so you can move at your child’s pace. Whether they’re still mastering their sounds, getting the hang of blending or starting to fly with early reading, they’ll find it fun, manageable, and confidence-boosting.
  • How long are the lessons? I don’t want a battle...
Each video is about 5 minutes or less - quick, simple, and no pressure. There’s also a fun follow up game or activity after each one, but how much you do is totally up to you.
  • Do we have to follow a strict schedule?
Absolutely not. Some families do one a day, others batch a few over the weekend. You can dip in and out throughout the summer holidays, there’s no rush at all.
  • What about holidays or days we just... don’t get to it?
Real life happens, which is why you can pause, pick back up later, or repeat any part as often as you like. It’s completely flexible around you.
  • Can I use it on my phone or iPad?
Yes! You can access the whole camp via the app or website, so you can watch from the sofa, garden, or even in the car on a rainy-day road trip.
  • We’ve got siblings. Can they join in too?
Of course! It’s one price per household, and lots of activities work really well with younger or older children joining the fun.
  • Is this a one-off payment?
Yes. No subscriptions, no auto-renewals, no surprise charges. Just a one-time payment and you’re in. You have access to the app or website for one year, but you can download the pack to use again in the future.
  • What happens after I sign up?
You’ll get instant access with your login details. You can begin as soon as you’re ready.
  • Do we need to print things out?
Some activities include printable games and worksheets, but don’t worry if you don’t have a printer. Lots of families have drawn their own versions or used a device to access the resources.

Here’s what other parents usually want to know first...

About Me

I'm Anna and I have a degree in Primary Education and 16 years of teaching experience.

During lockdown, I became a teacher to my own two children (which is much harder!) and shared the learning we did together on my Instagram account which has grown to almost 50K followers.

I set up Mini Writers Club to share activities and resources to help you support your child with phonics, reading and writing.

When I'm not busy working on Mini Writers Club, you can find me trying to get on top of the laundry pile! I have made sure the activities are quick and easy so that you can fit them into your busy week.
