My children both have cutlery with their names engraved on them. Before Benji could read his name he could work out which set was his because he recognised the letter B. When your child goes to school, other children might have names beginning with the same initial. This activity is a great way to help your child recognise their whole name not just the initial letter.
Write your child's name on a piece of paper a few times and then dot other names that start with the same initial around the page.
Ask your child if they can see their name. If they are unsure, show them their name written down on a piece of paper and ask them to see if they can find it.
Ask them to draw a circle around their name and cross out the other names
