Name Tracing - Writing
Once your child gets the hang of writing their initial, work on the rest of the letters in their name. Remember to write their initial using a capital letter and the rest of the letters using lower case. We used the name card from the car park name activity. I covered it with tape so that Benji which meant Benji could write on top of the letters and then we could rub it away and start again. We used Chalky Pastels but you could use a dry wipe pen. Cardboard Names - Spelling
This is such a quick activity to make and is a really good way for children to practise spelling their name. Write your child's name onto a piece of carboard/paper. You could use a car mat or just hide them around a room and choose toys to help rescue the letters. Support: To start with I arranged the post it notes in the correct order from left to right. I gave Benji a piece of cardboard with his name on and explained that his mission was to rescue the letters to spell his name. I wrote the initial letter o

Car Park Names - Spelling
Once children can recognise their name, we can begin to teach them how to spell it. Draw a car park on a piece of cardboard or paper. Write their name making sure there is one letter in each car parking space. Make sure to use a capital letter to start and lowercase for the remaining letters. Then write the letters of their name on the top of some toy cars. I used a chalk pen which rubbed off when we had finished. Alternatively, you could write the letters on masking tape and
