These are words that might be irregular (they don’t follow the usual rules) or they might contain a sound your child hasn’t been taught yet, which makes them harder to decode. You may hear these words called tricky words, common exception words, or sight words.

This pack includes two cards for each tricky word. The second card includes a guide that shows how to read it.
