This printable includes 24 jokes that your child can share with friends and family. Why not slip the jokes into your child’s lunchbox in the days leading up to Christmas or use them in an advent calendar?

Each joke is colour-coded to help you see which words your child may be able to read independently and which ones they might need a little support with. You’ll find the colour code guide on the first page of the PDF.

These jokes are so clever both my 7 and 5 year old love them and want to read them. We have split the questions and answers up so they can take turns and both have a chance to read either the question or the answer. My 7 year old then takes them to school and tells the joke to her teacher each day. Fantastic idea!

My 5 year old is loving opening a new joke every morning. I can see her confidence grow as she reads them aloud to us first thing before taking them into school to share with her class. I'm not sure what we'll do when there are no more jokes on the 25th!

I love these jokes! I put them into my little ones advent calendar and she loves the fact that she can read them by herself with the phonics hints. We have been taking them into school so she can read them to her class which they all love!

These jokes are an absolute highlight in our house this December. My 6 year old is so excited to find a new joke every morning and to be able to read them by herself. Needless to say, she finds the jokes hilarious.

My reading hating 6 year old loved these! He loved them so much he took them in to school to read out to his class! Fabulous little activity to start the morning and get him reading without realising.
